Within our Development & Engineering division, we are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer at the Hengelo location. Operating within the department Development & Engineering you are the linking pin to the NTS Norma manufacturing environment.

What are you going to do?

As Mechanical Design Engineer you are responsible for the development of high-quality mechanical and mechatronic modules and systems. In a multidisciplinary team, you are an active Mechanical Design Engineer with various concrete designs of subsystems / components with attention for feasibility, budget as well as user-friendliness. Key is to deliver a high-quality technical design that meets the specified specs within the specified time and budget. You align and improve your design based on manufacturability input of the supply chain.

You make sure all information concerning version and configuration is stored well (TPD). You support your team leader in concept, draw up specifications, calculations and test specifications. You make sure you stay up-to-date on the newest developments in your area of expertise.

What skills do you have?

You bring an interesting combination of technical background and development mentality to the table. Summarizing, we would be happy if your background looks something like this:

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Physics or similar);
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in (precision) mechanical or mechatronical design;
  • Knowledge of development methods, production techniques and discipline specific technologies such as CAD systems and/or FEM calculations;
  • Knowledge of materials, precision mechanics and construction principles;
  • Having worked in the high-tech environment for several years is a big plus;
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma methods is a big plus.

Furthermore, as a person, you would be best described as follows:

  • Eager to learn and develop in creative technology;
  • Interested in recent mechatronics, product and process level technologies;
  • Well developed communication and social skills. You know how to convey complex topics in understandable wording;
  • You are accurate and have attention to details;
  • Strong language skills in English, Dutch is a big plus.
